Dear parents, Happy New Year to everyone!!! I hope you spent a wonderful and restful Christmas time with your families.
The topic for this month is WINTER. The cold, the frost and the snow will be the protagonists of our activities.
Baby room activity
The babies this month will discover the “cold”. They will explore through various sensory activities such as colouring ice, artificial snow, snowflakes etc.
To support the babies’ communication language and help them to repeat new words, we will introduce polar animals and new stories about them.
Our babies will celebrate the Chinese New Year at the end of January. They will play in the decorated home corner and pretend to have a picnic with real Chinese food (noodles, rice etc).
The colour of the month is white.
Tweenies and preschool activity
According to the interest of our tweenies and preschool children, the story of the month will be Frozen. By reading through it, they can express their preferences about their favourite characters, make a role play and pretend to be a Queen of the Snow and sing the famous “Let it go” song.
Our children will recognise, trace and write winter words. And we will talk about how we need to dress up in winter.
In the math area, they will play with 5 little snowmen (subtractions concept)…” When the sun is going on the snowmen, one at a time is melting…How many snowmen left??
They will count from 5 to 1 (in descending order) and recognise them.
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, our Children will pretend to cook and served food in our Chinese restaurant. They also will explore the different Chinese symbols and will dance and sing the “Chinese dragon song”.
Celebrations! On the 23rd of January, all children will celebrate in the nursery the Mouse Chinese New Year. Our children will have a special traditional Chinese lunch. Outing to the Chinese restaurant Our Tweenies and preschool will have to chance to visit the Chinese local restaurant to celebrate the year of the Mouse and to breathe some Chinese atmosphere by the end of January.
