News and events from at the nursery in August.
Our theme this month is ‘Summer Holidays’ and our children have created an Indoor Beach Area. There is so much to do here as you can pretend to swim with your arm bands and ring, enjoy some ice cream while sitting in the boat and build sand castles with real sand. Today the children made some Hawaiian necklace’s for their beach party.
Have a look at our new Mud Kitchen area. Our children have been having lots of fun playing and learning outdoors in the Mud kitchen. We would like to extend their opportunities by developing it even further and would appreciate if anyone would like to donate any old kitchen utensils, ie old pots, pans, metal or wooden spoons and sea shells . Your support will be much appreciated by the children!
Our Babies have been very busy with their “Under the Sea” theme and have created a lovely Under the Sea scene in their room. At Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery we are always thinking of ways to expand our children’s learning . The baby room staff took their children out to Squire’s Garden to see some sea animals and they bought some food for their gold fish. How exciting!
August 14th – This week our cosy little reading den has been very popular amongst our children. They are mostly seen inside the den reading and sharing books together.
Earlier last week the children really enjoyed listening to the story of the Gingerbread Man, so this week we decided to expand on the theme. The children painted Gingerbread Men and went out to buy the ingredients to bake their own Gingerbread Men . Today we went to visit one of our local bakers by bus and the baker told the children how he bakes the Gingerbread Men. All the children got to buy a Gingerbread Man from the Bakery but we didn’t let our Gingerbread Men run away!
