Vaisakhi Celebrations!

Our children and staff loved dancing to Bhangra songs on Vaisakhi. Miss Zafira showed us how to play the musical instrument called ‘dhol’ and we all had a turn at playing it. Overall, it was a great morning, full of fun activities.

We took our Pre-schoolers to a local Gurdwara to extend their learning about various places of worship and different beliefs. We’ve learned so much about Sikh people while visiting their temple: we observed the way they prayed to Waheguru, we listened to their sermon, we circled the golden altar and bowed down with respect, on our way out. We’ve also learned to be humble and respectful, to cover our heads and take our shoes off whenever we visit a temple. It was quite a new experience for us…

Thank you for the lovely welcome and hospitality Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara . We’re definitely visiting you next year again.

We’ve had a lovely bonnet parade today. Children and staff partook in the garden parade and loved showing off their beautiful bonnets. There was such a dazzling array of entries on display!!! The voting was really tight and the judges found it hard to to whittle it down to a few children. We are delighted to announce the following winners: Ezra in the Baby Room, Lucy in Tweenies and Bella, Jonathan and Qitarah in Pre-school.
We then counted the parents’ votes and realised that Zafira had most of them.

It was nice to see the effort that everyone had put in their Easter bonnets. We were all winners and every entry was brilliant!

Well done to all the parents, children and staff for their creative efforts.
