Welcome to our April newsletter. The general topic of the month will be “Food”. The main aim of this topic is to show our children the importance of eating food to grow strong and healthy, but also to help them with the food that they do not like or refuse to eat such as vegetables.
Our purpose is to demonstrate our children, through engaging and interesting activities how they can enjoy food and promote healthy eating.
Treasure Hunt in the park
In order to prepare children for Easter, this month we will organise a treasure hunt in the park. Children will have to find the coloured eggs that we hide in our local park.
On Tuesday 16th April, our children and staff will have the opportunity to comfortably wear their pyjamas and slippers all day. On the same day we will also collect money to help children who are “forced” to wear their pyjamas all day because they are in the hospital. Your donations will be sent to the paediatrics department at Kingston Hospital.
Easter party and Easter hat competition
Thursday 18th April our children will celebrate Easter and there will be a hat competition. Children will create a special Easter hat at home with their parents and wear it proudly at the nursery on the day.
The nursery will be closed to Easter Holiday from 19th April to 22nd April.
We are very happy to announce that from this month the number of children in the nursery is going to increase and we have also created a waiting list. Therefore, we would be very grateful if you could book any extra sessions or register new children (babies) in advance.
As you know, our children’s safety is our priority. So for this reason, as well as to avoid any accident especially when children are tired, we would like to ask for greater collaboration during evening feedback. We understand it is important for you to hear the feedback from the teachers when collecting your child, however, if you could kindly keep the conversation as short as possible to allow teachers to carry out their duties. We are more than happy to arrange a meeting if you need more time to talk with the teachers about your child or any other issue.
In accordance with our safeguarding policy, We would like to remind you that using your phone or taking pictures in the rooms is prohibited. Furthermore, the nursery teachers cannot administer to the children any medication that has not been prescribed by a doctor.
We would like to warmly welcome Diluni join Monkey Puzzle Twickenham. Diluni is level 5 qualified with a SENCO experience and had been working in a few different settings. Before she joined us, she worked as the acting manager in one of the local nurseries. She will be based in our Tweenies room.
From April onwards, Lillian will start to work in our preschool room as part of her career. Our preschool parents will shortly see the key person information for your child on eyLog if relevant.
We would like to inform you that the nursery will be closed on 31st May 2019 for our 1st inset day in the year. Our teachers will have several in house training on the day and as usual this will bring benefits to our setting as well as the children. Thank you for your cooperation.
