Welcome to the March newsletter. As every month, following a careful observation of our children and their interests, the topic of the month will be “People who help the community”. Our children will have the opportunity to know through various activities and concrete experiences (outing) who are the people that help us in our community and what their jobs actually consist.
Our tweenies and preschool children will be focusing on people who help the community. They will write the name of the different jobs that they like and talk about their favourite one. They will learn the concept of addition and subtraction through the different kinds of transport that they are familiar with (police car, ambulance, fire truck etc). Also in the math area, they will play with different shapes and how they can make familiar objects by putting them together.
The story of the month will be “I love my mummy”. We would like to express our love to our sweet, energetic and busy mums. In this regard, it would be very appreciated if you would bring or send a photo of you (mother) and your child via email, so we can use them in our personal and social area to help the children to describe and draw their mums.
Our babies this month will be focusing on our general topic ”People who help the community”. They will have attractive activities and they will explore the colour of the month: red.
They will play with numbers from 1 to 5 and look at items that have a different way to use Eg. Rolling the balls, pushing or pulling the cars etc.
They will have messy activities as well as baking activities meanwhile they will also talk out different materials and ingredients.
From this month we would like to extend the “teeth brushing” to our baby room. Please bring a small named plastic bag with a labelled toothbrush and toothpaste for your child.
During this month, our children would have the opportunity to meet the policemen and a doctor in the nursery and listen to their talk about how they can help people. As we would like to extend our children’s learning, they will also have the chance to visit the fire station as well as a bus in small groups.
To welcome the Spring, on 21st March, we would like to celebrate Holi. Holi is a Hindu spring festival known as the “festival of colours” or the “festival of love”. Our children will have different activities involving different colours.
Last but not least, on Thursday 28th March, we would like to invite all our lovely mums to join us for the “Mothers Day” tea party. The party will start at 3:30 p.m. See you in the nursery.
We are pleased to inform you that all practitioners in our preschool and tweenies room are going to have a Phonics Training in March which is going to be provided by two Qualified Early Years Teachers. We would like to say a very warm “thank you” to Joseph’s mum who kindly arranged this for us.
We are delighted to announce that Nela, who has extensive knowledge and experience about outdoor activities, will be joining Monkey Puzzle Twickenham on 7th March.
Eleonora has decided to explore something different other than childcare. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Eleonora for her commitment, energy and enthusiasm during her time at Monkey Puzzle and we wish her all the very best in her new ventures.
