January 2016 Roundup

Welcome to 2016!
Firstly we would like to say thank you to all our wonderful parents for being so supportive in 2015 and we hope to get your continued support to make this year another successful year for everyone at Monkey Puzzle Twickenham.  A warm welcome to the new families who are joining us this January.
Our New year e-newsletter has been sent out this week but if you prefer to have a paper copy , please let us know.

We have started this term with the Curriculum topic “People who help us”. Children are encouraged to think about people who help us at home, school and in the wider community and to take an interest and ask questions about the jobs and roles that those people have taken on.

We will be talking about and arranging visits from postmen, fire officers, nurses, doctors, teachers, dentists, bus drivers and builders.

January 18th – A PE teacher came to visit us today. We did lots of exercise and checked our heart beat increasing in speed the more we moved! We also talked about how to stay healthy and the importance of daily exercise. Overall the children had great fun!

January 22nd – This week we had a visit from a Primary school teacher. We talked about a teacher’s role and how they help children to learn and enjoy their time at school. We looked at the pictures of different schools and their playgrounds, as well as different uniforms. Our Preschoolers are very excited to start school in September.

January 29th -This week we have been talking about the role of the Police and how they help us. We made our very own police station in the nursery and had lots of fun with role- play. Not just that, we had a visit from Twickenham police yesterday. We all absolutely enjoyed their visit and had a great talk about Stranger Danger and Road Safety. We looked at their vehicles (a car and a van) as well as their shields and sticks.
